The Salvation Army Christmas Kettling 2017
The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is a fundraising effort that began in 1891, in San Francisco, USA. An iron kettle was placed at a ferry landing to collect money so that the poor could be provided with a free Christmas dinner. Since then, The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign has become a tradition practiced in many countries worldwide.
This year, we will be setting up a booth at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall to resell good quality second-hand items at fair prices that kind people have donated to us over the past year. Some of the items being sold will also include handicraft that are proudly made by some of the people under our care. Volunteers are needed to man the booth, ring small bells intermittently to attract attention, provide general information about The Salvation Army to people when asked and most importantly, smile, greet and invite people to visit our store!
