Football. One of the most recognizable sports on the face of the Earth with millions of people who either play the game or tune in week after week to catch their favourite stars compete. There’s also one thing about football that no one can deny. The sports ability to bring people together as a team.
Under the Do Something Good initiative, 14 volunteers banded together to help set up and run The Buddy Club Football Tournament for Social Inclusion which took place on the 9th and 10th of November at the SK Batu Road School, which was an event that encouraged kids with and without disabilities to unite for the love of the game.
The volunteers under Do Something Good assisted from morning until evening, from the score keeping to the emceeing to the prize giving. From coaching the teams, cheerleading and interacting with the participants, every volunteer put in their all to make the day a special occasion for everyone that attended.
Children consisting of, nine teams from primary and four teams from secondary school, came from schools all over Kuala Lumpur to participate in this awesome event where everybody was a winner. At the end of the day everybody left with a medal and new friendships fostered during the event.
